FACILITIES AND LOCATION

MobileRobots Inc operates from a 32,000 sq ft facility on 1 acre. The company is ideally situated 20 minutes from Manchester (MHT) airport and centered 1 hour from Boston, the Atlantic Ocean, and the White Mountains. Biking, cross-country skiing, hiking, kayaking, fishing and other outdoor opportunities await nearby. New Hampshire's Scholastic Aptitude Test scores are among the highest and its crime rate among the lowest of any state in the US. Company resources include:

  • 5200 sq ft robot localization testing space, including machine-vision position testing station
  • 2200 sq ft autonomous robotics lab and indoor terrain-testing facility
  • outdoor test grounds with paved, unpaved, tracked and varying grade terrain

    LEADING THE MOBILEROBOTS TEAM

    Jeanne Dietsch, CEO & co-founder, has led MobileRobots Inc from a kitchen-table start-up to a manufacturer of thousands of intelligent mobile robots and a global leader in robotic bases for commercial and industrial robotic applications. As CEO, she provides strategic leadership, handles business development and oversees sales, marketing and RD directions. Ms. Dietsch is on the board of the IEEE Robotics & Automation Society's Industrial Activities committee and writes a quarterly column for Robotics & Automation magazine. She serves on the review board of Industrial Robot journal and the editorial board of Intelligent Service Robotics Journal and helped found the Robotics Technology Consortium. MobileRobots Inc is her third start-up.

    William Kennedy, PhD, MobileRobots Inc and best-selling O'Reilly author


    William Kennedy, PhD, COO & co-founder.  As COO, Dr. Kennedy oversees finance and administration of MobileRobots Inc. Kennedy has led the company since start-up to design and build its current fleet of robotic systems. He has been the driving force behind MobileRobots' ethos of strong customer support. Before helping found MobileRobots Inc, Dr. Kennedy quadrupled robot sales for Real World Interface prior to its merger with iRobot. In earlier careers, Kennedy taught computing at Loyola University of Chicago for two years and led A+ Publishing as editor-in-chief. At IDG, he ran ten publications, including MacWorld. He first worked with Unix-like systems as Senior Editor of SunWorld magazine. Kennedy is co-author of  O'Reilly's HTML/XHTML: The Definitive Guide, which has sold almost 1 million copies in 15 languages over six editions.

    Gary Fischer, MBA, Director of Manufacturing.  As chief of production since 1998, Mr. Fischer may have overseen the manufacture of more intelligent wheeled robots than anyone else in the world. Mr. Fischer was formerly chief of manufacturing for Real World Interface before its merger with IS Robotics to form the iRobot corporation. Mr. Fischer manages mission-critical purchasing and R&D productization, as well as robot fabrication and assembly.

    Our R&D staff includes graduates of the world's leading institutions in robotics and engineering, with extensive experience in applying theory to real-world problems and productization. Our production team is dedicated to high-quality assembly, good test procedures and careful packing for shipment. Our support staff are experienced technical staff who reflect the strong value MobileRobots places on customer support.
